Math & Science:
Math Department
The
high school mathematics curriculum is diversified and offers
appropriate courses to provide the proper mathematics background for
whatever immediate or future goals the student has in mind. For the
student who has had difficulty in arithmetic and needs more "hands on"
experience in mathematics, the following sequence is offered:
Integrated Math I and II. For the student who would like to continue
into a two year Associate Degree after high school, the following
sequence is offered beyond Integrated Math I and II: Algebra I,
Algebra II, Geometry at Warren G. Harding or Integrated Mathematics
III and IV at Trumbull County Career Center. For the average or above
average mathematics student who is contemplating post-high school
education the following sequence is offered: Algebra I, Algebra II,
Geometry, Advanced Math (Trig/Pre-Calc), and Calculus. To receive a
diploma three credits of mathematics are required. However, because
mathematics plays such an important part in every citizen's life and
in our society, all students should take as much mathematics as their
ability will allow, whether they plan to go to college or not.
