Examples of Student Work
FriendsBy Anonymous
We have always been friends Ever since elementary school We said we would always be friends Growing up now We have had some bad times But we promise each other We would always be there for one another Now that we are in high school Times have changed People have changed And most important, we have changed We don’t hang out as much Now with new people in our lives We are all doing different things We still talk now and then But things aren’t the same We don’t go places together on the weekends We don’t talk like we used to We all remember those nights Where we would stay up all night just talking We know We will always have our friendship In the end No matter where we end up We know that friends are the greatest things You can have in this world. |
Wanting To Be NoticedBy Anonymous
Everywhere we turn in this world There are people that are seen And people that aren’t People that are seen don’t care about being in the “spot light” Because the have always been noticed The only thing those people see are the people that look just like them It’s in every high school They are known as the “popular crowds” Everyone knows them as the sports stars and Cheerleaders and Those that are involved in everything And then there are the not so popular groups There are those that want their moment in the sun But have not yet received it Popular factions act like the queen and king And that nothing can hurt them So they do whatever it takes to keep feeling that Way The make fun of people and things they do not Understand To make themselves feel good or to impress Someone While the opposite crowd do the same to them Because they are Jealous of the other crowd And want to be part of the seen crowd even just for An instant Even though they won’t admit it They do Everyone wants his or her chance to shine But hardly ever are given their chance because They are scared To be seen Because they are afraid of what others think So they just hide and become another face in the crowd. |
